Spring is coming and time to work on some new designs. We have lots up our sleeve with a new collection of our sterling silver and faceted bead bracelets coming soon. We're not going to tell you which colours we're teaming up with the silver yet but there are going to be two collections in two fab colours we're sure you're going to love! That's it, we've said too much, now you'll just have to wait and see.
In the meantime we've been having a bit of a fine silver fest! We love working with the precious metal clay to produce our fine silver creations as it's such an amazing process.
Here are some of the pieces before firing looking like matte, dull clay -
During the firing at high temperature the clay type substance that binds the fine silver particles together is burnt away and the particles are fused together to form a solid, fine silver piece of jewellery. The most exciting part is when the fired design is brushed to take away the surface coating of clay and the gorgeous silver beneath is revealed. No matter how many time we do this it's still thrilling to see the fine silver emerge!
It takes a lot of polishing to get a shine on the charm we're happy with but it's so rewarding to see the finished items which are .999 fine silver, a higher silver content than the usual .925.
No two pieces are ever the same, even if we repeat a design so you always know you have a unique piece of jewellery. We can also customise the pendants with a word, name or initials (space allowing) just to make it extra special!
